With A Little Help From My Friends
My friend @uwelang, a music lover who also likes rock, has created a new tag #RockBest where people talk about their favourite rock songs. This should increase interaction on the platform, especially among music lovers.
I have many songs that I like. One of them is With A Little Help From My Friends sung by Joe Cocker. It's on Joe Cocker's debut album and also gives it its name. It was released on 01 May 1969, but was recorded in 1968. On guitar is Jimmy Page, the legend of Led Zeppelin.
The song was composed by the Beatles, or rather by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, and was released in May 1967 on the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Why have I chosen a cover today and not the original? I think the cover is much better, because this song needs the raspy voice of Joe Cocker.
What is your favourite rock song?
Eines davon ist With A Little Help From My Friends gesungen von Joe Cocker.
And now the lyrics to With a Little Help From My Friends
*What would you do if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I′ll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
What do I do when my love is away
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of the day,
(Are you sad because you′re on your own?)
No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love
Would you believe in a love at first sight
Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light
I can't tell you but I know it′s mine,
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Do you need anybody
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love.
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends*

Great song! The Beatles were talented writers for sure, Joe Crocker did a great take on it here. I couldn't even choose my favorite rock song, it would change day by day... Today I've been on a Volbeat kick, they have some great songs. Much more recent than Joe Crocker. But in my Three Tune Tuesday I threw in some good old Sammy Haggar as well. I love rock n roll!
