Something from the 90s / Etwas aus den 90er

Hello,

When I was little, my parents introduced me to different types of music, my mum to classical music, which she plays, piano and chansons, she also speaks fluent French. My father introduced me to rock music, especially from the 60s and 70s, and disco. I don't think disco made much of an impression on me, but classical music and rock stayed with me.

Rock has also evolved over time, I love the 60s and 70s, but I also think that the 80s and 90s had their appeal, just like what came after 2000. One song from the 90s that I like is Glycerin by Bush. It was written by Gavin Rossdale in memory of his girlfriend at the time, Suze DeMarchi. It's a song without drums, but with violin and cello. That was Gavin's wish, as his father had recently died. The video was also shot at very short notice, as it was filmed in the USA and her visa was about to expire.

Do you have any songs from the 90s that you really like?

Hallo,

It must be your skin, I'm sinkin' in
It must be for real, 'cause now I can feel
And I didn't mind, it's not my kind
It's not my time, to wonder why
Everything gone white, everything's grey
Now you're here, now you're away
I don't want this, remember that
I'll never forget, where you're at
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine, glycerine
I'm never alone, I'm alone all the time
Are you at one, or do you lie
We live in a wheel, where everyone steals
But when we rise, it's like strawberry fields
If I treated you bad, you'd bruise my face
Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste
Don't let the days go by
Could have been easier on you
I couldn't change though I wanted to
Should have been easier by three
Our old friend fear and you and me
Glycerine, glycerine
Don't let the days go by, glycerine
Don't let the days go by
Ah, ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Glycerine, glycerine
Oh, glycerine, glycerine
Bad moon whine again
Bad moon whine again
As she falls around me
I needed you more, we wanted us less
Could not kiss, just regress
It might just be clear, simple, and plain
Well that's just fine, that's just one of my names
Don't let the days go by
Could've been easier on you you you
Glycerine, glycerine
Glycerine, glycerine

Hello, Alex! What a great tune that you share here! Bush was one of my favorite bands from my youth... Since I was born in ´78 the '80s '90s and 2000 were very prolific years of great music and hymns! Grunge was for sure one of the most music stile that I've listen to...
One song that also marked me was the "Today" from Smashing Pumpkins

It is really a great song. The Smashing Pumpkins had some really good tunes.

Having your parents introduce music to you is a significant thing. I have listened to this song and it has its style. I like its rhythm. It's perfect to go on a trip and play it in the car.

Yes, parents need to be an example for the kids. It is a very good song.
