24th of November 1991, was a sad day for music

Hi,

today is one of the saddest days in music, as 32 years ago, on the 24th of November, Freddie Mercury passed away, due to his illness.

I remember, when I was a kid, my father was listening the anti-communist radio, Free Europe, which was broadcasting from Munich, which is my home town now, and was heard over the iron wall. There was music, which was considered decadent by the communist, and one of this decadent bands was Queen, with Freddie as a singer.

My dad let me listen to the radio, telling me not to tell anyone, but there will be a time, where this communist nonsense will disappear, and we will be free. He was right, after 1 year communist fell down, and hopefully for good.

Speaking of Munich, Freddie used to live here for 7 years, where he recorded his music at the Musicland Studios in the basement of the Arabella Haus. It was the most in place at that time, where the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop and others wanted to do their records.

He changed the way of music, and by some, Queen, was one of the first metal bands, some credit them as creators of trash metal, which brought us Metallica.

I'm sorry that I did not see them live, was too young when Freddie passed away. Would have loved to do it, but even if he had come to a place near us, we would not be able to afford it.

From time to time, I put the Live Aid concert on, when I'm working at home. It has such a great energy.

Thank you, Freddie, for the music!

His energy and commitment at the concerts were incredible. I also would have loved to hear them live brother. Queen is legend. 😎💪🏻
