The Particle E - Experimental Soundtrack
Hello Everyone :)
I went through the trunk and took out another homemade product that had been lost there collecting dust, this one also with a few years old.
It is yet another experience produced on a blank night and which resulted in a peculiar sound combination.
Let me make a brief introduction about my experience and these experimental soundtracks i share with you all:
Despite having grown up near some musicians, and having taken classical guitar lessons since i was very young, i´m not a musician or anything like that, all i share here are raw sound experiments that have as their base and influence a mixture of various musical styles and soundtracks of films and short films that i have been watching throughout my life.
There are many artists who influence these experiments (believe it or not :P) and when i have free time and feel more inspired, i like to produce and mix some random sounds just for fun and to relax, and in the end i turn off the lights and try to listen like it was the first time, to be honest is a bit hard to try to listen like it was the first time once i hear some sounds in loop for a long periods of time. The first experiments came after a stay at one of the most famous electronic music festivals in Portugal, the Boom Festival, and after trying out several digital work stations, it was with Reason that i found the tool i work with until today :) Now that i have made this little introduction let’s go over the details.
Let's get technical
About the software i used to create this soundtrack:
DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): Reason Propellerhead
Digital Audio Workstation "DAW" developed by the Swedish company Propellerhead Software.
This software simulates a rack of signal processors, hardware synthesizers, mixers, etc, thus mimicking the actual operation of electronic music production.
Below, some of the virtual devices used:
Malström Graintable Synthesizer
Synthesizer using Graintable technology that is a cross between granular synthesis and good old wavetable synthesis.Dr. Octo Rex Loop Player
Reason’s loop player with audio loops that have been sliced into their rhythmic components.Thor Polysonic Synthesizer
This unique synthesizer features six different oscillator types and four unique filters allowing you to dial in synth sounds that are completely new.Redrum Drum Computer
Drum machine built-in pattern sequencer, ten sample playback channels and a huge library of drum kits
