HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK 253 || AFRICAN QUEEN BY 2BABA || COVER BY @AKWASH360
Hello Hive Open Mic Community. I am @akwash360. In line with the theme of the week (week 253) I will be presenting the cover of the song African queen, originally sang by 2face Idibia (2Baba). I deem it fit to choose this song for two reasons; The first reason is because we are in the season of love and the second reason is because the Theme is about “Dear Diary” and scanning through my personal diary I realized that a lot of things I documented is about my love story so I felt it will be nice for me to express that love story in songs and the best song I can think of at the moment was “African Queen” by 2Baba. It best describes my feelings and expression of love.
Also, I am astonished when I went through the lyrics of this song line by line, I discovered that the singer actually put in his feelings and emotions into this song. Initially I used to see it as a song, but looking deep into the wordings and meaning I began to see the whole thing in his own perspective. All I see was him expressing his genuine act of love in songs. I can imagine the joy that fills the heart of the lover.
Speaking also about my dear diary, this activity made me run through my documentation in my dear diary over the years and I realized that writing down your feelings with pen in a book or notepad gives the best feeling ever, most especially when you have a reflection about how life treated you in the past. In my own case, I was able to measure all good and bad memories I shared with my girlfriend, my diary opened my eyes to note kindness, love and peace she brought to my life and that made me love her the more. In that regards I will advise that everyone should own a diary as that can also help us in some decisions we make.
