6 days ago, we made a post titled Get ready for Afri-tunes Special Christmas Event (16 - 22 December) where we announced that Afri-tunes is launching a Special Christmas event to create a special vibe on Hive for the Christmas season as a way of displaying love, unifying every culture and language through music, and promoting the love and joy of Christmas.

In less than 4 hours the event will kick off.

However, before the event kicks off we love to share some updates which addresses some beautiful suggestions and concerns raised by some of our community members.

Also, we would love to unveil one of our biggest sponsors for this event and our newest sponsor for our weekly contest. Likewise, we will also unveil a special additional prize for our contest winner.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

For the Afri-tunes Christmas Event, each participant is invited to compose or present a cover of a Christmas song in any native language of his or her choice.

Give your best and don’t frown while singing...😁

You are also free to express the song through any African musical genre or style: Afrobeat, Afro-Jazz, Amapiano, Highlife, Makossa, Soukous, Sebene, Fuji, Tungba, Juju, Ogene, Apala, Palm Wine Groove... etc.

OR

To express the song through any genre which has elements or influences of African tunes in it: Reggae, Samba, Salsa, Calypso, Rumba, Afro-Venezuelan music, Blues and Gaita Zuliana... etc.

UPDATES:

• Beautiful Christmas songs in all languages (including English Language) are allowed.
• If you wish to present other African tunes in-line with our weekly contest, feel free to use the title AFRI-TUNES WEEK 41 and #afrwk41 tag instead.
• Videos should be exclusively for the Afri-tunes Event

NB: For instrumentalists who would play without singing, try, if you can, to include a YouTube link to the same song sung by a choir so that listeners may more readily connect with the tune.
