For those who don't know, UNEAC stands for the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. UNEAC is home to the country's artistic avant-garde.

The interesting thing about this venue is that, being the home of the artists of the province (and everyone who visits Las Tunas), art can be felt from the very entrance. As you can see, a small art gallery welcomes the visitor.

Everywhere you look you will find sculptures, ceramics, paintings and installations. All of this, accompanied by multiple ornamental plants that give a natural and fresh touch to the house.

Even the furniture is being thought of as works of art.

Another display of art and tribute to those who have influenced and contributed to the culture of the province, These are busts of Cucalambé, Gilberto E. Rodríguez and Guillermo Vidal, of whom we will speak later.

Cultural life is very active here. Whenever you enter you can find several artists from the province, coordinating presentations, dreaming of personal or collaborative projects and, of course, you can always enjoy music presentations and literature spaces.

Here, for example, you can see the “Isaac Nicola” Guitar Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Ramón Carlos Leyva Pérez.

Here is Maestro Ramón Carlos, again, but as a soloist. This concert guitarist does something incredible, he brings classical concert music to the electric guitar. It is something unique in the country, at least.

This is a guitar orchestra of students from the Professional School of Art “El Cucalambé”, under the direction of Professor Yuritza Hechevarría.

This is a duo that has just started, composed of guitar and violin, who surprised me with the interpretation of The piece “Paris 1930” by Astor Piazzolla. Without a doubt, it is a great and moving work.

The activities always attract a large audience and above all, students from the Art School, who benefit greatly from seeing those they emulate and admire on stage.

On February 8th and until the 10th, the “Guillermo Vidal” Literature Conference will be held, an author who fascinates me and where I will participate as a writer guest.

UNEAC is more than an artistic institution, it is the house of Art, where you breathe Art and Art is lived at all times.
When you come to Las Tunas and want to enjoy first-class art, this is where you have to come.

Para los que no lo sepan, UNEAC son las siglas de Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba. La UNEAC acoge a la vanguardia artística del país.

Como tal, el edificio no impresiona por su arquitectura. Es una casa de mediados del siglo XX.
Lo interesante de esta sede es que, al ser la casa de los artistas de la provincia (y todo aquel que visite Las Tunas), el arte se respira desde la misma entrada. Como pueden ver, una pequeña galería de arte es quien recibe al visitante.

Por donde quiera que mires encontrarás sculturas, cerámicas, pinturas e instalaciones. Todo esto, acompañados de multiples plantas ornamentales que le dan un toque natural y fresco a la casa.

Incluso el mobiliario está pensando como obras de arte.

Otra muestra de arte y homenaje a esos que han influido y aportado a la cultura de la provincia, son estos bustos del Cucalambé, Gilberto E. Rodríguez y de Guillermo Vidal, de quien hablaremos más adelante.

Aquí la vida cultural es muy activa. Siempre que entres podrás encontrarte a varios artistas de la provincia, coordinando presentaciones, soñando proyectos personales o colaborativos y, claro está, siempre puedes disfrutar de presentaciones de música y espacios de literatura.

Aquí, por ejemplo, pueden ver a la Orquesta de Guitarras “Isaac Nicola”, bajo la dirección del Maestro Ramón Carlos Leyva Pérez.

Aquí el Maestro Ramón Carlos, otra vez, pero como solista. Este guitarrista concertista hace algo increíble, lleva la música clásica de concierto a la guitarra eléctrica. Es algo único en el país, al menos.

Esta es una orquesta de guitarras de estudiantes de la Escuela Profesional de Arte “El Cucalambé”, bajo la dirección de la profesora Yuritza Hechevarría.

Este es un dúo que recién inicia, compuesto por guitarra y violín, quien me sorprendió con la interpretación de la pieza “París 1930” de Astor Piazzolla. Sin duda alguna, es una grandísima y conmovedora obra.

Las actividades siempre atraen gran cantidad de público y sobre todo, alumnos de la escuela de Arte, quienes se benefician en gran manera al ver sobre el escenario a aqullos que emulan y admiran.

El próximo 8 de febrero y hasta el día 10 se realizará la Jornada de Literatura “Guillermo Vidal”, autor que me fascina y donde voy a participar como escritor invitado.

La UNEAC es más que una institución artística, es la casa del Arte, donde se respira Arte y el Arte se vive en todo momento.
Cuando vengan a Las Tunas y quieras disfrutar de arte de primer nivel, aquí es a donde tienes que venir.
